And these aren't just any Hogs.

The 75th Fighter Squadron's A-10s flew home from Operation Epic Fury in June, and the Nintendo nose art, Diddy Kong included, was painted on at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan during the deployment. The mission grid on the nose is from that fight.

Then Tuesday morning they spooled up and rolled out of Northwest Arkansas.

Still the best close-air-support jet ever built.

WHY IT MATTERS:
- Washington keeps debating the A-10's retirement. The jets keep deploying and the mission grids keep growing.

- Nose art isn't decoration, it's earned. Every mark is a sortie someone flew.
