I was on covered California for 3 years. I'm low income so the state paid a good portion of the 600 dollar monthly cost. Just recently, the state put me on Medi-cal because of my last tax filing. I'm self employed so I have a lot of deductions. I make around 50k a year but my adjusted gross income is 10k. The state literally changed me to "homeless" status in their system (i have screenshots) and switched me to Medi-cal so they wouldn't have to pay the monthly 500 ATC payment towards my covered California plan. The difference i paid was about 125 a month. I told them i didn't want to go on medi-cal. I had no problems the way things were for 3 years. California is corrupt as hell.
