@ShakinthatChalk You can't draw that conclusion, the question doesn't ask about the impact on SEND students specifically. In my experience students who do benefit from a fidget tool devise them themselves- a piece of blutac, something that comes to hand- usually something quiet and soothing.

@NicholasFerroni Why would veteran teachers not be as tech savvy? They are probably better than the kids, as they were there at the beginning, teens today can't do a PowerPoint, many struggle to open emails and attach a doc. They can press next, and install snapchat, that's not tech.

@jenteach13 There are consequences.. they don't care! Don't turn up for detention, parents won't allow child to do detention, be suspended or isolated for a day with work, come up the school threatening if you take away the child's phone. No school, has a no consequence behaviour system.

@sciantificnew Students are investing in their future, through classwork and homework, revision etc. Teachers have done that bit. We are not children, we're adults in a profession. The athlete runs the miles, not the coach.

@ABell2019 @Adrian_Hilton You are being ridiculous. In Christian faith schools, Muslim students happily draw Jesus and Mary and Moses etc. If they say no , that's fine, never really been a problem. They go to Mass and listen to music and do dance and drama.

@McBrideLawNYC No , but I do know that women lecture on theology in seminaries, so in a way they are giving the homily, as they have taught the man who is the priest who gives the homily. St Paul also praised Priscilla who taught men and women. In Persona Christi applies to the consecration

@MardyMariner98 @RogersHistory Were you dealing with 30 children at the same time? It's much more difficult to de-escalate one person, while trying to teach and provide for 30 others simultaneously. Until resources are provided to enable a move away from one size fits all, unfortunately teachers will struggle.
