Defending the West is impossible at this point, and failure is not an option.
When your mission is of that nature, believing that βif you abide by his rules, an all powerful entity guides and protects youβ is essentialβwhether that entity exists in a literal sense or not.
Scientists shouldn't be in charge of science, regardless of the domain. Science provides no moral framework. They ask,"Can we do this?" And fail to ask,"should we do this?"
I'm not arguing for a theocracy either, tho. The only answer has always been good men in positions of power. Tough pill for libertarians to swallow.
@IPostAndGhost@LudwigNverMises Understood. I'm certainly glad they failed to kill you, bro.
I'm of the opinion that the Biden admin left all of the military assets behind intentionally to keep the taliban threat alive.
A) if you are going to be a disinfo agent, you still have to maintain a certain level of credibility. Not everything is a lie.
B) when playing the grand game, alliances shift as the phases change. The taliban can either be a stabilizing force in the region or a casus belli for chaos, depending who is in charge.
@IPostAndGhost@LudwigNverMises He had several solid Christian apologists on, and I enjoyed those podcasts. The guests did mist of the talking. Shawn Ryan is a shitty interviewer. That Cath priest smelled like sulfer to my senses.
@IPostAndGhost@LudwigNverMises Whip ppl into a religious psychosis with demons and aliens then manipulate Christians into a crusade while funding and aiding the Muslim brotherhood. Shawn Ryan is a devil's legion asset.
@IPostAndGhost@LudwigNverMises I wasn't a regular listener to his pod. As soon as he had that "exorcist" Catholic priest on that takes 15 years to exorcise demons, I was like, nah, It's an op.
Yoda told him to basically 'let it go, bro'. It's a movie for kids, and your standards may be a little too high. Also, Anakin had a puppy love for Padme and indoctrinated by the jedi since 9 yo.
I've made reasonable assumptions that I can live with, considering the writing isn't the greatest.
There was no valid point, which is the point. The Jedi used her slavery as a means to force Anakin to let go of his attachments. The jedi likely held enough political and "moral" authority to simply ask no action be taken on Shmi's behalf. The worst kind of "Let it go" philosophy.
@nakedemperror@foleywoley The jedi leaving Shmi in slavery was a foundational reason for Anakin's eventual fall to the darkside. Your complaint is that the jedi were not the paragons of virtue that that claimed to be, which is the entire point. The jedi failed.
