According to court documents, attorneys for Jeanie Buss filed for a continuance in her petition to stop the family trust from selling the Lakers. The hearing is now scheduled for Dec. 8.
Ramona Shelburne’s credibility is certifiably cooked. She was the co-author of that fake report and initiated this joke of a PR interview. Whether her sources are horrific and she didn’t vet them, or Ballmer has her on payroll, she cannot be trusted.
Big breaking news:
I've obtained a letter from Jeanie Buss's lawyer to the lawyers of her siblings demanding any vote to sell the team is "void" and reiterating that she's the controlling shareholder -- which trumps any "vote."

Bloomberg is reporting that Mark Walter has been in talks with investors to raise money to pay down the loans he is being investigated for. That's why he sold the Lakers for $12.5B — in a deal that came together in just 72 hours — less than two years after he purchased the team.
So this is what I gathered. Basically this is a really good ownership combo for the Lakers. Kushner is a billionaire investor who runs Thrive Capital, one of the biggest VC firms in tech, so they have essentially unlimited resources and connections. Iger is the former Disney CEO who oversaw Marvel, Pixar, Lucasfilm, etc., so he knows how to take an already massive brand and make it even bigger globally.
The biggest thing for me is the Lakers finally get modern, deep-pocketed ownership that can dump money into scouting, analytics, development, facilities and the front office. The salary cap still limits what they can spend on players, but there’s basically no limit on everything surrounding the team.
Doesn’t guarantee they’ll win obviously, but Lakers brand + LA + billionaire tech money + Iger’s business/entertainment experience is about as good of an ownership setup as you could ask for lol.
Sad losing the Dodger connection but we’ll live.
Laker fans, you couldn’t have two better owners. I’ve known Bob personally for over 40 years - he has always loved the Lakers and basketball and he will bring championships back to LA.
I like him as a switchable 2-4 wing defender than a true lockdown stopper right now. The tools are obvious size, athleticism, strength, and versatility he’d give LA more juice guarding bigger wings. My concern is the consistency: off-ball focus, screen navigation, and discipline
@Aussie_Lakers Bro stfu 🤣 regardless what rob does people will shit on him. The lakers had no draft capital we got multiple picks on an expiring contract who does not fit our team. ALSO ROB IS NOT DONE like shit give him time. Everything not instant
The Lakers will be able to aggregate Jaden Hardy’s $6 million salary immediately in another trade if they acquire him while under the salary cap.
He would have a two month aggregation restriction if acquired after doing all their cap space signings.
Free agent center Mitchell Robinson has agreed to a three-year, $47.4 million deal to sign with the Boston Celtics, with a player option in third season, sources tell ESPN. Robinson departs the Knicks after serving a key role on the historic championship team.
