The advice I have for using educational technology tools is to dive in and just TRY them. Some will work and some won't. The best way to learn is by doing. Try the tools to find which ones bring you success. Go out of your comfort zone. #tldeuno2021

I think the best advice I can give to people trying to integrate technology into their classroom is TRY IT! Give everything at least one try! If it works, great, if not, you now know that tool doesn't work for you!

Seesaw is an ed tech tool I really enjoyed using last year. I was able to assign activities for students to complete. I liked that they could respond directly on the activity, upload a photo, or make a video. I also liked that I could see & respond to answers fast. #tldeuno2021

@MrsKoehler2 LOL! It is quite warm here, that's for sure. It is different like they say from it being dry heat instead of humid. I actually just moved here at the end of May. I am from Omaha and am finishing up my masters this month, hence why I am enrolled in this class! :)

@AliBamHer Yes! There is a code/handout you can send to parents for them to sign up to join your class. Then you can send "parent announcements" to just the parents. My school even sent "school announcements" to both students and parents. Parents can also send you comments/questions.

@BirkholtzB I think you mentioning schools need to make sure teachers are comfortable is SO IMPORTANT!! From experience, I was able to navigate tech more through the pandemic whereas my 20+ year veteran partner teacher really struggled because I grew up using it and she did not.

By teaching expectations, rules, and digital citizenship, schools can prepare students for using educational technology tools. I think they also need to explain HOW to use the tools before expecting them to be able to do it by themselves. #tldeuno2021

@MrsKoehler2 Great question! I feel there are plenty for older students, but I will teach Kinder this year and I would actually love to hear suggestions from others on what is simple to use for littles!

An educational technology tool I plan to share with colleagues is digital formative assessments. By creating digital exit tickets / learning checks, we can quicker scan the results to inform our teaching faster and may even be able to directly respond to students. #tldeuno2021

@MsLewis37427418 I used Seesaw last year with my 1st graders! It was awesome. I think you will enjoy using it. Students learned quickly how to respond to activities and how to send me random pictures/videos too. I like that I could send voice comments since they couldn't all read my responses!
