पकल दुल परियोजना (1000 MW) में एचआरटी-I निर्माण कार्य सफलतापूर्वक पूर्ण :

सीवीपीपीएल की प्रतिष्ठित 1000 MW क्षमता वाली पकल दुल जलविद्युत परियोजना को पूरा करने की दिशा में एक बड़े कदम के रूप में आज टनल बोरिंग मशीन (TBM) से निर्मित हेड रेस टनल-I (HRT-I) के कार्य को सफलतापूर्वक पूर्ण कर लिया गया। भारतीय हिमालय में 'हार्ड रॉक डबल शील्ड टनल बोरिंग मशीन' का उपयोग करके, 7.2 मीटर व्यास वाली सरकूलर और लगभग 7.35 किलोमीटर लंबी इस भूमिगत टनल (जिसके ऊपर 2 किलोमीटर तक चट्टान की परत है) का कार्य सफलतापूर्वक आज सुबह पूर्ण कर लिया गया है।
इस ऐतिहासिक मौके पर NHPC के CMD, श्री भूपेंद्र गुप्ता, और समस्त निदेशकगण एवम वरिष्ठ अधिकारीगण फरीदाबाद स्थित निगम मुख्यालय से ऑनलाइन जुड़े थे। CVPPL के प्रबंध निदेशक, श्री रमेश मुखिया और समस्त वरिष्ठ अधिकारी जम्मू स्थित CVPPL निगम मुख्यालय से ऑनलाइन शामिल हुए। वहीं, पकल दुल परियोजना के प्रमुख, श्री विशाल आनंद और समस्त वरिष्ठ अधिकारी इस महत्वपूर्ण पड़ाव के साक्षी बनने के लिए ड्रंगधुरन साइट पर उपस्थित रहे। डूल गांव से ड्रंगधुरन तक निर्माणाधीन दो सुरंगों के बड़े हिस्से का निर्माण M/s लार्सन एंड टुब्रो (L&T) द्वारा TBM मशीनों से किया जा रहा है, जबकि एक छोटे हिस्से का निर्माण M/s जय प्रकाश एसोसिएट्स द्वारा पारंपरिक ड्रिलिंग-ब्लास्टिंग तकनीक से किया गया है। चिनाब घाटी क्षेत्र में उपस्थित भूगोलिक चुनौतियों के बावजूद इस विशाल जलविद्युत परियोजना का कार्य काफी तेज़ी गति से अपने गंतव्य की दिशा में आगे बढ़ रहा है।
इस मौके पर एनएचपीसी के CMD एवं CVPPL के अध्यक्ष तथा प्रबंध निदेशक द्वारा पकल दुल जलविद्युत परियोजना को विशेष सहायता प्रदान करने के लिए भारत सरकार एवं माननीय प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी का आभार जताया। साथ ही, राष्ट्रीय महत्व की इस परियोजना को बनाने में लगातार सहयोग और समर्थन के लिए जम्मू-कश्मीर सरकार का भी धन्यवाद किया। उन्होंने कहा कि यह परियोजना CVPPL को स्थापित करने, ऊर्जा सुरक्षा को मज़बूत करने, ग्रिड की स्थिरता बढ़ाने और जम्मू-कश्मीर केंद्र शासित प्रदेश के सामाजिक-आर्थिक विकास में योगदान देने में अहम भूमिका निभाएगा।

Pakal Dul HE Project (1000 MW) achieves TBM-I breakthrough:

In a major step towards completion, CVPPL’s prestigious, 1000 MW, Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Project, achieved first breakthrough of Head Race Tunnel-I being constructed by Tunnel Boring Machine. The Circular shaped, 7.2 meters’ diameter, approx. 7.35 kilometres of underground tunnel, with 2 km of overburden (rock cover), has been successfully completed with Hard Rock Double Shield Tunnel Boring Machine in Indian Himalayas.
The historic daylighting was achieved today in the virtual presence of CMD NHPC, Shri Bhupendra Gupta, along with all Directors & Senior Officers of NHPC connected online from Corporate Office Faridabad. Managing Director-CVPPL, Shri Ramesh Mukhiya and other Senior Officers had joined online from CVPPL Corporate Office Jammu. Meanwhile, HoP- Pakal Dul HE Project, Shri Vishal Anand and senior project officials were present on the site at Drangdhuran to witness this important milestone. Major portions of the two HRTs, from Dool to Drangdhuran, are being constructed by TBMs engaged by M/s Larsen & Tubro and a minor portion has been constructed through traditional Drilling-Blasting Method by M/s JP Associates. Notwithstanding the geological challenges in the Chenab valley region, this largescale hydropower project is fast progressing towards its early commissioning.
On this occasion, CMD-NHPC, Chairman-CVPPL & MD-CVPPL expressed their immense gratitude towards the Government of India, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for the special support provided to Pakal Dul HE Project and the Government of J&K for their continued support & cooperation in building the Project of national importance. He added that the project will play a decisive role in establishing the CVPPL, strengthening energy security, enhancing grid stability and contributing to the socio-economic development of UT of J&K.

Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Projects), NHPC and Shri Suprakash Adhikari, Director (Technical), NHPC along with senior officials, visited the free multi-specialty health camp organized at NHPC Corporate Office, Faridabad on 10.06.2026. The camp was organized for employees, contract workers, security personnel and their family members in collaboration with hospitals empanelled with NHPC.
A total of 196 beneficiaries availed themselves of the healthcare services provided during the camp. The camp offered a range of diagnostic facilities, including Audiometry, ECG, Bone Densitometry, Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) and HbA1C testing for blood sugar assessment, enabling participants to undergo comprehensive health check-ups.

Anil Kochhar and his wife decided to give the gift to all ~200 graduates in N.C. State's family.

Kochhar is the son of Prakash Chand Kochhar, an immigrant from India who studied textile manufacturing in Raleigh.

"My father found not just an education, but an opportunity that allowed him to build a life, support his family, and begin a legacy that continues today. And it will never stop, never," Kochhar said.
