November 8, 1965. War Zone D. Vietnam.

The 173rd Airborne Brigade walked into a jungle ambush. On one side: American soldiers. On the other: over 1,200 Viet Cong. When it was over, 48 Americans did not walk out. Niles Harris's platoon alone — just 30 men — absorbed the worst of it.

Their medic — Lawrence Joel — got shot. Then he got shot AGAIN. He bandaged his own wound, injected himself with morphine so he could stay on his feet, and spent the rest of that firefight moving through enemy fire to reach his brothers. Not his BLACK brothers. His BROTHERS.

The United States government awarded him the Medal of Honor. He was the first living Black American to receive that honor since the Spanish-American War of 1898.

You probably learned about this in school, right?

... you did not? Funny how that works.

You MAY know this story from a different place. A couple of country music guys from Nashville — Big & Rich — sat down one day with a Vietnam vet named Niles Harris. Harris was one of the men Joel pulled out of that ambush alive. He told them what happened on November 8th. What Joel did. What it cost. What it meant.

Big & Rich wrote a song about it. Kris Kristofferson opens it by reading Joel's story out loud, because he understood that some stories are too important to bury in a footnote.

A country duo made sure the world remembered a Black Army medic's heroism... but we are supposed to be satisfied with 28 days on a calendar.

There is no Black history. There is no White history. There is AMERICAN HISTORY — and when we carve it up by race and hand it out in monthly portions, we do not honor anyone. We diminish everyone.

Lawrence Joel did not need a month. He needed a foxhole, a medical bag, and the kind of courage most of us will never be called upon to demonstrate.

THAT is American history. ALL of it. ALL year.

But what do I know, I am only a combat medic who understands that when the bullets start flying, nobody asks what month it is.

A 17-year-old Christian girl, Hannah, was reportedly kidnapped in broad daylight in Pakistan after refusing to convert to Islam and marry the 46-year-old son of a Maulana, an Islamic cleric, while onlookers did nothing.

This is not rare. This is Islamic law and Islamic practice in action.

In Pakistan, Islam rules the system - the streets, the courts, the police, the schools.

Here is what Islamic Pakistan does to non-Muslim girls:

• Girls are abducted in the name of Islam
• Forced conversions are approved by Islamic courts
• Child marriage is declared “legal” under Islamic justification
• Police refuse reports because the crime “served Islam” • Judges accept “voluntary conversion” claims made under threat
• Victims are forced to stand beside their abductors in court
• Families are terrorized into silence by Islamist mobs

This is not corruption or failure...This is Islam functioning exactly as designed in an Islamic state.

Human-rights investigators, U.S. government reports, and international NGOs have documented the same pattern for decades:

Girls are kidnapped, raped, converted, and married off, and the Islamic system protects the perpetrators.

That is what the Pakistani flag represents.

And yet that flag is now being raised in Texas.

Let that sink in.

The same green banner that flies over:

• Forced Islamic conversions
• Islamic child marriage
• Islamic blasphemy lynchings
• Islamic religious apartheid

…is being treated with honor on American soil.

Where is the outrage? Where are the “America First” Republicans? Where is the spine?

Pakistan’s constitution bars non-Muslims from leadership. Islam is the law. Minorities are disposable.

And Washington still calls this regime an “ally.

That green flag is Islamic domination. Why are we allowing Pakistan Day or the Pakistani Flag to be celebrated and recognized inside Texas?
