THE FACTS THEY LEAVE OUT
“The movie - "e'Lollipop", 1975 - Did you know? (Similar to the global Hit, Shaka Zulu, and Gods Must Be Crazy) 👉
In 1975, during the height of apartheid, an Afrikaner filmmaker named André Pieterse wrote and produced e'Lollipop, a film about the friendship between a black boy and a white boy in Lesotho. It became the highest-grossing South African film of its era. It opened a Cannes retrospective on South African cinema in 2004. The cast included Patrick Mynhardt, Naomi van Niekerk, Fanie Bekker, and Jan Bruyns alongside Muntu Ndebele and Norman Knox. Decades later, when Ndebele was found drug-addled and dying at 43kg in a derelict Hillbrow flat, it was Pieterse and Knox who found him, rehabilitated him, and gave him his life back.
An Afrikaner made the film. An Afrikaner saved the man. But tell that to the narrative that says apartheid-era South Africa produced nothing but racists. This film existed. These friendships were real. This story was told by Afrikaners, funded by Afrikaners, and carried by Afrikaners to international audiences while the world was told that no such thing was possible. That is the part they erase.”

Rotten day in @CityTshwane’s municipal council as Johann Mettler is suspended as municipal manager and CFO Gareth Mnisi’s alleged misconduct is classified as “less serious”, giving Mnisi a soft landing. This evening Tshwane’s ANC-led coalition suspended city manager Johann Mettler, but only because their speaker deducted 13 votes from the side opposing Mettler’s suspension (effectively cooking the votes). After their own mayor Nasiphi Moya brought the report against Mettler two weeks ago, ActionSA decided not to support Mettler’s suspension after all. Like suddenly trying to extinguish the fire they started. The findings of a forensic report against CFO Gareth Mnisi was classified as “less serious”, effectively giving him a soft landing (unlikely to be dismissed). The Mnisi vote was also achieved by deducting votes from the side saying that the matter is one of “serious misconduct”. ActionSA also voted with us on this one. There were so many irregularities in this council meeting that there is a clear case to set this aside.
ActionSA are actually proving that their puppet mayor of Tshwane is indeed a puppet.
She is the one that tabled the report, in council, that the DA voted against. Why ? Because if she doesn’t, the EFF and ANC will remove her.
It’s not that difficult to understand
AfriForum did an in-depth investigation into Julius Malema to conclusively prove that the "Kill the Boer" chant is not just a metaphor, like his defenders and farm murder deniers claim.

Johann Mettler blocked their tenders. He refused to let corrupt officials walk free. He stood between Tshwane and those who wanted to loot it.
Today in a special council sitting they are trying to fire him for it.
One of those tenders would have handed a company called Smada a 50 year lease on the Pretoria Show Grounds. Smada has been linked to the EFF and Julius Malema at the Madlanga Commission. 👀
This is not about misconduct. This is about removing the man standing in the way. ⚖️
Govt quietly pumps R1bn into SAA as 'share capital' (not a bailout, obvs 🙄) so our airline can fake a profit while taxpayers bleed for decades of failure. Now rushing their own 'Starlink equivalent' as private innovation is too colonial? Genius: Keep the flying money pit alive and build satellites from bailout scraps. FFS!
‼️ How exactly are white-owned businesses responsible for the ‘biggest’ tender corruption in South Africa, when BBBEE race laws deliberately exclude us from tenders? 🤔
We can’t even compete fairly because of racial quotas and preferences that hand contracts to ‘connected’ commie cadres.
This is just more deflection from the real problem: systemic corruption, enabled by race-based policies, that hurt everyone except the elite tenderpreneurs.
This man 👇🏻 must suck at Cluedo. 🕵🏻
Eugene Modise was found guilty by Tshwane’s own forensic investigation. He hid his financial interests in a security company earning millions from the city.
We filed papers in the Gauteng High Court to force a proper decision. Because a slap on the wrist is not accountability. It is an invitation to do it again.
Register to vote so that we can continue to apply pressure here. https://t.co/HlJhTk6V62 🗳️

.@afriforum is in the Pretoria magistrates court to monitor the murder case of Sergeant Michael Swanton. He was murdered in cold blood by blue light bullies, in front of his wife.
Despite being in serious financial distress, South Africa’s state-owned power utility, Eskom, increased its chief executive’s salary by nearly R5 million in the 2025 financial year, to R12million.
Oh would you look at that… Hamas operatives coming out from a tunnel… in Gaza… inside a school… with lots and lots and lots and lots of… weapons.
And then they just casually move through the school and stack the weapons inside cupboards and specially concealed nooks.
And when the IDF come for those weapons that will be used to KILL Israelis, the whole Arab and western world and the UN will cry and shout and scream that Israel “targets schools and… children” while Hamas cry and pretend they are the victims.
It’s all so predictable and boring already. When the kids die, this is why. And all the fake moral outrage and condemnation at Israel for doing what the rest of the world sees but does nothing about is all too pathetic.
If the world intentionally turns a blind eye to schools and kids being used as human shields, then it is the world, NOT ISRAEL, responsible for the consequences.
Eugene Modise’s company earns R3 million a month from Tshwane. ⚖️
His punishment for hiding that? A R200 000 fine🤯That is not accountability.
We need to take back your city from criminals like him. You have the power to do that at https://t.co/HlJhTk6V62

There’s an active contract for this sewerage plant and yet there’s no workers on site. This is the playbook of the ANC/EFF/PA/Al Jama-ah coalition government: collect the contracts and skip the work!

Anne-Marie van Zyl, a 33-year-old mother of two young daughters, was stabbed to death on March 8, 2014, in front of her children at her workplace, Trio Data in Spartan, Kempton Park. Ramawele, a former colleague who had resigned two months earlier, confronted her after his request for reinstatement was refused by head office.
Ramawele brought or fetched a knife (which he denied), and stabbed her multiple times. Reports indicate nine stab wounds in a brutal attack right in front of her daughters, Tathiana (then 9) and Anjankè (then 6). He denied planning the murder, bringing the weapon, stealing a red cash box, or leaving a bloody note at the scene.
This single mother was simply trying to provide for her family in what should have been a safe workplace. Instead, her children witnessed unimaginable horror, and a young life full of promise was violently ended. The grief for those little girls, now grown without their mother, and the ongoing pain for her loved ones is profound and heartbreaking.
REST ASSURED, that neither the @HigherEduGovZA nor the #NSA will hold anyone accountable at the Nat. Skills Fund. All will remain employed. No funds will be returned. DA's own investigation found that the Min Dina Pule again failed to declare her interest in FIVE companies to Parliament, says MP. Remember the time she slukked R10m to a boyfriend?
The ANC's BEE connected Passengers are busy selling SA mining rights and other means of production to foreigners and becoming stinking rich themselves, while the rest of the people will work for these foreigners.
This is the masterplan of the ANC...
While the world's cameras are fixed on the five-day state funeral of Khamenei, the Islamic Republic is silently killing this 23-year-old girl with a slow death.
Raheleh Moeini, a biomedical engineering graduate of Amirkabir University, had traveled back to Iran from Italy to visit her family. On January 18th, in Saadatabad, Tehran, she was shot by security forces and at that very moment, bleeding and wounded, she was abducted and transferred to Qarchak Prison. Her family spent weeks not knowing where she was. Whether she was alive or dead.
Now Branch Tehran’s Revolutionary Court, has issued its verdict. One year for being on the street where they shot her. One and a half years for having a Twitter account. Two years banned from leaving the country. This regime first put a bullet in her, then put her on trial.
Be the voice of Raheleh Moeini.

Good news for South African ballet (and for South Africa).
Candice Desilets has made history as the first South African ever to graduate from the prestigious Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia, one of the most respected ballet schools in the world.
Candice began her training at the Russian School of Ballet in Parkhurst before moving overseas to pursue her dream. Her graduation is even more remarkable because she completed her final exam with two fractures in her leg!!!!
The Vaganova Academy has produced ballet legends including Anna Pavlova, Rudolf Nureyev and Mikhail Baryshnikov, with only a handful of students making it through to graduation each year.
Candice’s incredible achievement is an incredible personal milestone but it's also an inspiring moment for South African dancers everywhere. ❤️🇿🇦
Her full story, written by one of our goodies, Savanna Douglas, is on @GoodThingsGuy and was my chosen story for my @947 Monday feature today.

Today as the DA in Tshwane, we stood outside the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria. ⚖️
We filed papers against Eugene Modise. The Deputy Mayor. The Finance MMC. The man found guilty of hiding his financial interest in a security company contracted to Tshwane.
His punishment? A fine of two months pay. That is not enough.
Because if Modise walks away from this, every tenderpreneur politician in this city gets the message that the rules do not apply to them.
