@CalebFromX The only person who would’ve been
Up there, but won’t be (because of Marc) is Umar, and that’s not because of any beef. That’s because Marc is a progressive black liberationist and Umar has some conservative views that may not market well under scrutiny.
Dave Matthews: “I will never stop calling for an end to the violence in Gaza and the West Bank and Lebanon and for that matter the Congo and Sudan and Ukraine or the horrific violence against immigrants and their neighbors in our country”
Cam Ward had such a promising season, but the general public doesn’t know, because he plays for the Titans and the public only cares about Fantasy football results.
Neil deGrasse Tyson: “Whatever [the next outbreak] is, we ain’t ready for it. We still have anti-vaxxers running around.”
“I don’t trust scientists. I saw a YouTube video, so I’m not going to take it.” (mocking)
“I don’t want you to ever forget this story.”
“20,000 years ago, we’re in the cave. Do you know what the life expectancy was?”
Shannon Sharpe: “10 years? 15 years?”
Neil deGrasse Tyson: “30. Half of everyone born was dead before they were 30.”
Shannon Sharpe: “Wow!!!”
Neil deGrasse Tyson: “Fast forward to 1840… everyone born in the world was dead by the age of 35. We gained five years of life expectancy. And every one of them ate organic, breathed clean air… Science matters here.”
“We’ve doubled the life expectancy with antibiotics, vaccines, and sanitation. The three biggest forces operating on our longevity. So to come around and say I don’t need vaccines because I’m not getting sick, that’s like saying, why are you using dandruff shampoo? You don’t have dandruff.”
Shannon Sharpe: “Well, I don’t want to get it.”
Neil deGrasse Tyson: “That’s my point. If you’re successful, people think you don’t need it when that’s what’s creating the ongoing success in the first place.”
Sometimes, you don’t hate the bias of the editors at the New York Times enough.
The reporters rightly relegated this guilt-by-association cleric stuff to the 9th paragraph of their piece but the editor made sure it in was the dek of the piece itself on this historic night - above any mention of him treating 9/11 victims, saving Tammy Duckworth’s life, or volunteering to save lives in Gaza.
@katewillett while i agree w you on weiner being fetterman - i was a bit confused about your support for connie esp compared to how much you hate aoc. now you admit their israel positions are the same. whats going on?
nyt can you please have some decency about a decorated war veteran combat surgeon who saved tammy duckworth's life, who treated 9/11 first responders and was in gaza during the genocide. i get that he's muslim and antizionist but this is a shameful and racist subheader!
ISH's voice could be valuable if he reads more and expands his thinking and worldview. In conversations like this, he usually gets so close to understanding perspectives that he then loses the plot, driven by limited experience and emotion.
Ish is mad funny, because for a nigga that has so little empathy when it comes to women, he always makes sure to defend the women who happen to be assholes and grifters.
