@EricMattei_CA@AlexEpstein Jobs are not a government commodity handed out by permissions. Nanny state indeed! There is no right to a job nor a right to jobs for Americans. Hiring is a private matter between business and individuals. If you’re fascist say that, but don’t say you’re American.
@ChristineLKing9@2112bytes@AlexEpstein You’re missing the point. Anti-immigration is third world thinking. You’re conflating immigration with crime, you’ve been lied to.
@rrbelloff@AlexEpstein Current ppl in authority don’t care to make a distinction. They hate all immigrants. They want to stop immigration. And don’t forget, they’re not concerned if actual citizens get swept up in their dragnet either. “Would never happen.”
@PittsburgWizard @AwayBerk I’m referring to Rights in the moral sense encompassing all necessary liberties granted by the nature of man qua man. Not specific rights granted by laws or government. Rights are facts of reality recognized by proper govts, got granted by them. Rights are not permissions.
@PittsburgWizard @Dreamuai@AwayBerk The truth is actually counterintuitive to the common sense claim. In actuality, hcr includes services you personally might not want/need making them more expensive plus there is no competition to keep costs low. And it drives out new innovations, enshrining the status quo.
@PittsburgWizard @AwayBerk You’re thinking isn’t clear bc u have mixed ideas among ur concepts. Free markets aren’t same as anarchy. Capitalism requires a state w/ courts as a referee, as you said. But limited to only protecting individual rights. Capitalism is different from others bc it protects rights
@ProPeacePunk @PittsburgWizard @AwayBerk Smith was a great innovator, but not perfect. His defense of capitalism is flawed since he wasn’t a moral innovator. He still held to the old moral appeal of altruism which made his defense incomplete. Gov’t denies property rights with zoning laws, permits, rent controls, etc.
@SamaritanPrime@AdamMossoff Ok thanks. I was aware of the resignations bc of @AdamMossoff posts and statements. 100% agree. Just wondering if there were new developments but you clarified there were not.
@PittsburgWizard @AwayBerk All those are causes of the lack of capitalism. It’s when the state interferes in the economy that it creates perverse incentives and distorts real signals.
@Kamots_A@AwayBerk American politics has been devolving from the civic ideals of the founding to today’s parties of fear and hatred of the “other” from both sides. But both agree, they all want Power, power to control.
