@takesverse Spot on i think the officiating was meh at best but the big calls were 100% correct. I hope African teams can take this incredible experience from this WC and build on it instead of blame a false narrative that a game had to he rigged for a comeback
I still can’t believe people focus on the officiating while ignoring Hossam Hassan’s game management.
You’re 2-0 up against one of the best teams left in the tournament. Your winger gets injured with 18 minutes left, and you replace him with Trezeguet instead of adding defensive stability????Then Argentina make it 2-1, Messi starts taking over and getting into the flow of the game, and with 10 minutes left you bring on Omar Marmoush, a striker. Why are you making attacking changes when you’re trying to protect a lead?
People will always debate calls that don’t go their way, even when they’re correct. But regardless of the officiating, better game management could have changed the outcome against a side that’s capable of doing so much damage if you leave yourself exposed.
@ragnarlothb16@Footballera0 I love that bro ❤️ every small club deserves a win every 22 years! Maybe one day you’ll win European silverware and you’ll understand what it’s like to be a big boy!
@PeakSxnti 100%
World cup unfortunately filled with peopel who watch this sport casually throughout the season and aggressively ever 4 years. It’s nice to have people enjoy football but the amount of people with no basic understanding of the sport make me sick
I genuinely don’t know how people are going to talk about Messi 20 years from now. I can’t even find the words to explain what I’m watching today. The trophies, goals, assists and stats will still be there but they don’t capture what it felt like every time he touched the ball. Some players are remembered. Messi has to be experienced.
@ragnarlothb16@Footballera0 Enjoy your title like the small club that you are.. no European trophy in 100+ years.. you are an embarrassment to football.
Imagine being Gonçalo Ramos. A man in his physical prime. You score the winner against Croatia with a ridiculous header. And your reward is 0 minutes in the next game. Actually quite unbelievable.
17 - Most shots on record (since 1966) at a single edition of the FIFA World Cup without creating a single chance for a teammate:
Cristiano Ronaldo, 17 (2026)
Alberto Garcia Aspe, 15 (1998)
Jerzy Gorgon, 13 (1974)
Katlego Mphela, 13 (2010)
Denis Cheryshev, 13 (2018)
Ego.
@ragnarlothb16@Footballera0 A coach that has given Brazil it’s first round of 16 exit since 1990…. Berge was far more impactful but he doesn’t play for a club that has experienced it’s first win in 22 years through goals we’re seeing called off this WC 😏
Ronaldo scoring two against Uzbekistan might’ve been the worst thing that happened to Portugal this World Cup. It created the false belief that a washed 41-year-old could still lead the line, while a striker with an outstanding record spent the tournament on the bench. #portugal #worldcup
