@stefen_rosner @TheElmonters Honestly, even during the better parts they were never actually good. Got carried by unreal goaltending and euphoria around the best player the Isles had since the 80s. Their 5on5 stats always looked terrible. They've not emerged from the first round in 5 years. Not a good team.

@SemiRespect @stefen_rosner Journeyman coach? He's won almost 100 playoff games and went to multiple cup finals and more conference finals. The team under Roy was bottom five in the league in almost any metric, they only are near the playoffs because of Sorokin.

@stefen_rosner They have a lot of high character guys, but but when it mattered most this season, all of those captains and former captains, leaders, winners faltered. Lee, Schenn, Pageau, Palat. That does not bode well. They need good hockey players, not has-beens.

@stefen_rosner Darche had the chance to build something, but doubled down on a team that was not good enough to win a playoff round in 4, soon to be 5 seasons. With a generational talent on his ELC that fell into his lap. Schenn, Palat and JGP will make 16m next year. Just awful. And sad tbh.

@stefen_rosner Palat should sit out a game, other than that they look okay. Not good, but good enough to get in. Their xG share 5 on 5 is still very bad though, that of a lottery team. They get bailed out by Sorokin a lot.

@stefen_rosner Roy lost a lot of credibility with his handling of Duclair vs Drouin this year. Drouin can't even crack the shitty Blues' line up, yet he never got scratched here. Now he's playing Palat and MacLean over Shabby and Duclair. Same goes for Soucy and Boqvist over George or Warren.
