it’s incredibly disappointing, to put it mildly, that the senior leadership of @LancasterUni haven’t booked @UJS_UK to deliver antisemitism awareness training despite our @LancasterSU taking the training every year.
since November, i’ve been lobbying @LancasterUni with @LancasterJSoc to train staff in antisemitism awareness. we’ve been stonewalled with bureaucracy despite @UJS_UK’s brilliant training being free…

This evening marks Yom HaShoah - Holocaust Memorial Day.
As we do every year, we will take a moment to stop our lives and remember those who were murdered in the Holocaust. We also remember those who survived the horrors - whose stories deserve to be heard.
Had a productive meeting w/@CatSmithMP earlier.
We spoke about advocating for peace rather than stoking division, the hostages, & community cohesion in Lancaster.
My community has adopted with Bibas family with the @BoardofDeputies & @UJS_UK’s #SederSeatforaHostage campaign
To mark Holocaust Memorial Day this weekend, our @LancasterUniLib are hosting an exhibition featuring historical objects from The Holocaust, while our @InfoLab21 is being lit up in purple throughout the week
“violence cannot drive out violence; only peace can do that”

📢CALL FOR EVIDENCE📢
@nusuk has commissioned an investigation into antisemitism which seeks to consider "whether NUS has done enough to make Jewish students feel welcome, included and safe in NUS spaces, activities, and in elected roles".
We're so pleased to host this with @LancasterLGBTQ Everyone is welcome to a time of open sharing where we will remember what has come before and share hope for what might be ahead. 5.30pm, Tuesday 14 June, Chaplaincy Centre. Message for more information. #pridemonth2022
As we log off ahead of the Festival of Pesach/פסח/Passover, we wish all of our members, friends and allies a happy Easter, Ramadan Kareem, and a Chag Pesach kasher v’sameach
Mazel tov to UJS members @DominicCasoria and @malkahshelha for being elected to NUS’s National Scrutiny Committee! Excited to see you representing Jewish students at a national level!
Over 500 (and growing) Jewish students and allies have signed a letter to @nusuk and @nusconnect Board expressing their concern over comments made by the NUS president-elect and failings of NUS. Jewish students are raising their voices. It’s time to act! https://t.co/bEXhycVMwB
i’m so proud to call this union mine. @LancasterSU has once again proven that SUs can be safe spaces for Jews. i can’t wait to start as VP Education in but before then, i want to improve the Jewish student experience on a national level which is why i’m running for @nusuk NSC.
