@BianchiWeather The initial flush of smoke haze today (in Arvada) was really smelly. Fires and weather are so cool. I flew a small plane into Jeffco the day the four-mile-fire began. Strong winds and temp inversion…That smoke went straight east in a narrow band to the Nebraska line and beyond.

In all our years of research, there was one behavior we could never observe, one event we just couldn’t capture on camera, our 'white whale' you might say. But after years of meticulous preparation and planning. studying footage, reading animal tracks and sign, and becoming one with the forest, we have finally captured that which we sought: raccoons doing it.

And we did not just get a glimpse—we captured a whopping 101 minutes of unfettered copulation spread across 3 days.

Well, take that back, there was, what appeared to be, a 3rd wheel that interrupted some lovemaking on a beautiful sunny March day. But now that we think about it, it is more likely a youngster that walked in on its parents and is now scarred for life by what it saw.

But this pair did not let that interruption deter them, they just did it for 66 minutes straight a few days later. The life of a raccoon...

I bought lotsa steel material today. Middle of Jan, pricing was $2500. Two weeks ago, $3200. Today I paid $4000.

USA made things’ prices will be *drastically* affected. Everything made here still uses raw materials that are a commodity, prone to price speculation/panic.

@BianchiWeather The hard wind on Hwy 93 blew out of the East last night. And for a moment it blew *scary* hard. I normally blame wind on the mountain wave out here but how does it blow so hard in reverse from the east?

@BianchiWeather Does Gunnison have something interesting (topography?) that helps it stay so cold? Or just cold air sitting in the area? Seems like the statewide weather has been fluctuating so much, but maybe Western CO is another planet from front range & East?
