(Assuming he’s exactly 50 in 2016 this would mean his birthday was same year his dad died)

It’s tight but he’s usually a younger adult when he gets the ring (after being a test pilot).

The ball could just be a metaphor for the ring and his role as Green Lantern,

Or it could stand for both and really highlight Hal’s willpower for better or worse.

@x0Starlight Character-wise it’s not even an attack or huge change, Hal is still reckless and his trauma drives his willpower.

If you ask me this is leagues better than his father being an abusive asshole which is one of the two ways he’s been portrayed.

@x0Starlight It’s a little weird how people want adaptations to be 1:1 with comics so that they can get direct story adaptations that cinematic universes and live action CBM’s have never done and will never do because it leads to bloat and directionless storytelling or limiting creativity.

I get that being stuck on Hal in a cinematic universe would’ve stunted fans from other Lanterns but it still hurts idk
