Zohran basically got this man wrapped around his finger simply by showing up to meet with him and not backing down.
I’m going to say what I said back when Whitmer went to meet with Trump: this is a man who is easily manipulated and will cede to whoever he spoke to last. He’s very easy to deal with if you are willing to do so. And you need to make sure you are in the room when decisions relating to you and your constituents are being made because you do not want this man talking to Miller, Vance, RFK Jr etc in your place.
As NYC DSA approaches an endorsement vote on NY-8, NYC Groundwork offers a comradely critique of Co-chair Grace’s argument against running Chi Ossé.

The claim that Kamala Harris lost because she was a woman is objectively untrue, and it's unhelpful and anti-feminist to send a message to American women that running for office is futile
“The BBC’s coverage of Israel’s genocide is one of the great journalistic crimes of our age.”
@mehdirhasan and @owenjonesjourno flame the BBC for its pro-Israel bias and vent at right-wing gaslighting over the outlet’s “liberal” slant.
This is the moment when Democrats ended the possibility of a public health insurance option and/or Medicare for All for another generation, fortifying the power of their insurance industry donors to continue immiserating everyone - and soon after, Dems were thrown out of power.
We are still living through the horrific consequences of those decisions to not use a once-in-a-generation election mandate and huge congressional majorities to actually deliver genuine change. Until Democrats and their liberal sycophants fess up to and reckon with that original set of sins, they will struggle to build a durable and sustainable electoral majority.
when I adopted you right as the pandemic started, you gave me laughter and comfort in an uncertain time. you were the adoption center’s office cat who loved eating cake
when I walked into a room it was never by myself since you’d waddle behind me always
when I fought depression in 2021 you somehow knew the rare times I would be crying, and would jump on my half-made bed and push your face into mine as if you wanted me to use your ears as tissues
the only thing you loved more than treats was being around people. everyone said you were a dog in cat’s clothing. when you made a cameo on my stream it was the highlight of the entire day
you loved to sleep and eat and constantly had an engine running. I could open a can of tuna in a different area code and you’d probably run over.
and even when they told me before adoption that you were sick and wouldn’t live as long as most cats, I still chose you to come live with me.
you were never picky with who you liked. you spent time with me, my friends, my mom and grandma, people in my life from the past and present, and brought everyone a little bit of extra joy by deciding to buy a plot of real estate on their laps.
you were the best cat, and dare I say the best companion someone could have over these last five years
and maybe if I’m as kind to as many people as you were in your life, I’ll meet you one day again
rest in peace Brisket
my lovely big boy

Everything in the US is fake. The lives, the deaths, the explanations, the hair, the skin, the teeth, the voice, the government, the opposition, god, the music, the education, the history, the conversation, and its absense. Nothing is authentic, or what it appears to be. It is all an exercise in control and deceit in a culture without an even intellectual understanding of the concept of truth
