Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick has said that high-quality new build homes can help drive up property prices for nearby residents - arguing that "beauty and quality" are "key to unlocking community consent for development and housing".
Nationwide has upped the stakes in the mortgage rate wars by launching a five-year fixed rate home loan with an interest rate of 0.99%. The lender’s offer is the first five-year deal on record to charge borrowers an interest rate of less than 1% during the fixed rate period.
