Both

RT @Da865king: @LangDev for the project are we supposed to calculate MLU for both or only one transcript?

[Devin Casenhiser @LangDev]

Hi all. I inadvertently started with chapter 7 rather than 9. At this point it'll be easiest to just follow the book and go in order

[Devin Casenhiser @LangDev]

@Kalee_Wilson1 yes. :-)

[Devin Casenhiser @LangDev]

@KatieHogue2 protowords have at least some regular meaning. Jargon is usuallya string of nonsense

[Katie Hogue @KatieHogue2]

@LangDev what is the difference between jargon and protowords?

[Devin Casenhiser @LangDev]

@NeeleySlattery1 what is underextension

[Devin Casenhiser @LangDev]

@Kalee_Wilson1 yes

[Devin Casenhiser @LangDev]

@Hannah_Stockton I don't think there isa morpheme counting question

[Devin Casenhiser @LangDev]

@MeganBrogan5 better if you ask sooner for help. I don't think its that hard past undergrads have always done well with it

[Devin Casenhiser @LangDev]

@MeganBrogan5 you should be able to recognize english words in ipa

[Megan Brogan @MeganBrogan5]

@LangDev What do you want us to do with the IPA chart? I feel like we didn't cover that well enough to be able to recognize words.

[Devin Casenhiser @LangDev]

@MeganBrogan5 on blackboard under documents

[Megan Brogan @MeganBrogan5]

@LangDev Where do we find the article that we reviewed in class?

[Devin Casenhiser @LangDev]

@Kalee_Wilson1 thanks I'll start doing that

[Devin Casenhiser @LangDev]

@Hannah_Stockton not really much of a layout.

[Devin Casenhiser @LangDev]

By the way I've been assuming that you guys can read the posts of students as well as me. Its that right?

[Devin Casenhiser @LangDev]

@mmmarykate two different studies: naigles and gertner

[Devin Casenhiser @LangDev]

@Hannah_Stockton I can't say that there are no words that are on the test from the book only but at least most are from lecture

[Devin Casenhiser @LangDev]

RT @JoshyVBennett: @LangDev many of the terms are from the back of the book are on the test.most were also covered in the lecture.

[Devin Casenhiser @LangDev]

@JoshyVBennett what definitions
