@BathRoadSafety @BathEcho To implement a bus gate on Cavendish Rd is to make a deliberate choice to send cars past St Andrew's school, and up Morford Street. The trial has shown that. More cars past schools and more houses on unclassified roads. Can you point to this being the 'first proposal'?

@BathRoadSafety @BathEcho @BathRoadSafety Cavendish Rd carried less traffic than Morford St pre trial, and has fewer houses on it. Morford St is even higher now. WL had 1200 cars per day, now all split between Sion Road and Morford St, in both cases past a junior school.

The least worst outcome here is how things were with a dedicated AT route through Sion Hill campus

A bus gate increases right turns from Marlborough Bldgs to Julian Rd, sending local residents past St Andrew's, and Kingswood/Garden traffic back up Sion Rd or LC to Lansdown Rd for a main / side turn. Modal filters here cause worse downstream impact

Why are you ok with traffic on residential unclassified roads like Morford Street? Why are you not loudly shouting that a scheme that currently sends traffic past two junior schools should be stopped?

You had a video starting at the top bollards but deleted it - how did you get there? This was flagged well in advance of the trial. Avoidable with a dedicated AT route as per the local plan

Worse.

And not by advocating for a bus gate that sends all school traffic over Lansdown Crescent, or against residents on Sion Road corners

It breaks LTN 1/20 guidance on gradient by 5X and has 4 critical safety failures on the Active England route checker. Ignoring principles doesn't help there either
