🧬 Pathophysiology of #EBV
EBV infects B cells in the oropharynx ➡️ CD8+ T cells & NK cells mount cellular immune response to control infected B-cell proliferation ➕ humoral immunity produces EBV antibodies➡️ lifelong/persistent infection
Monkeypox(Mpox)
Caused by Orthopoxvirus
Has two major clades:
1️⃣ Congo Basin (Clade I)
2️⃣West African (Clade II)
Transmission:
Person-to-person via prolonged close contact
Animal-to-person through contact with infected animals body fluids

#Ebola in DR Congo is the fastest-growing outbreak on record & on track to become the deadliest according to WHO.
More than 2,000 people have already died – the current death rate is 1 person every 30 minutes.
Medair is treating patients & helping communities contain the outbreak
At the DRC–Uganda border, Kasenyi is a strategic crossing point where high population movement heightens epidemic risk.
A WHO-supported mobile lab now delivers #Ebola test results in about an hour, cutting delays and bringing lifesaving diagnostics closer to more than 94,000 people.
Before this, samples had to travel 55 km to Bunia on poor roads, with confirmation of a suspected case sometimes taking nearly five hours.
The project is part of an initiative by governments of the #DRC and Uganda to strengthen cross-border health coordination and control the outbreak.
Ebola Virus Disease (EVD)
Severe viral infection caused by Orthoebolaviruses
📌Spreads via direct contact with infected body fluids
Occurs mainly in sub-Saharan Africa
📌The 2026 DRC outbreak, caused by Bundibugyo virus, is the largest #Ebola outbreak ever reported in the #DRC
How can hypertension cause OSA?
🟡Unmanaged blood pressure ➡️ fluid buildup/swelling leading to throat swelling especially at night when lying flat➡️ narrow airway➡️ OSA
📌 however, Not all patients with #OSA have #Hypertension and vice versa.
Obstructive sleep apnea(OSA)
🟡How does OSA cause Hypertension?
Partial or complete collapse of upper airway ➡️ reduced oxygen levels and ↗️ sympathetic activity ➡️ Endothelial and neurotransmitter dysfunction ➡️ hypertension

Lactose intolerance🤔
🟠Lactase production declines after weaning, leaving most adults worldwide with some degree of lactose malabsorption➡️a normal consequence of reduced lactase production
📌Those who continue digesting milk lactose in adulthood have “lactase persistence.” 🥛
