I've been watching the #AlexMurdaugh trial, rare when a defendant takes the stand. I wrestled with such a scene in my novel, Begin Again Finnegan, where a famous actor asks a journalist friend to be his alibi and it goes to trial. I'm sure novelists are watching this.
