@StevePoliti@AnthonyFucilli It’s a shame that most people don’t know all the good that Ray has done and will only remember him for one incident. He was an easy guy to root for on the field and now an easy guy to root for in life!
@SullyCNBC In no way am I defending NYC or the current administration. However, doubling the budget in 20 years means an average of a 3.6% increase annually. Higher than inflation but not as crazy as it sounds. That said, I have no doubt there is plenty of waste in the budget!
@RuFan130@CraigHelfgott He has but can’t get over the hump. It’s a bit like wrestling. Consistently top 20 but can’t get into the top 10. Maybe that’s our ceiling but it seems like two sports that could make the jump with the right coach and some money but have stalled at their current level.
@Richard37215662 I’ve lost interest. I was all for kids getting paid, but not without rules. I’d rather watch the NBA at this point but I won’t because I hate the NBA. 🙌🏼
@realDonJunk@JamesKratch Oh I don’t know, maybe the 1000’s of people that are employed because of athletics, the restaurants full on game days, the hotels in the area. You know all the Econ 101 stuff. I see your a Ped St guy so you obviously understand the impact to the area you just want to shit on RU
@JamesKratch@realDonJunk Schools in the Patriot League have average student bodies of about 8000. If RU played in the Patriot League no one would care. Expenses would go down and revenues would likely go down more.
@realDonJunk@JamesKratch The schools you mention have student populations of 50-60% of Rutgers. My point is that so little of the state contribution is going towards athletics and athletics brings way more economic impact to the school and area than what is calculated strictly by athletics revenue
@JamesKratch Try measuring the financial impact of athletics on the school and surrounding areas rather than just using athletic revenue. Fewer applicants, students, donations and overall spending in the community by a long shot! Not to mention research dollars, quality of faculty etc.
@JamesKratch So tired of these stupid arguments. 18% of RU’s budget comes from state funding and athletics is 3% of the university’s total budget. Where would the school be without athletics? Not saying there can’t or shouldn’t be changes but people need to get a grip!
