I am so happy to see this work finally out! By compiling existing data we were able to quantify bird/tick species interactions for migratory birds across the Western Palearctic flyways. Thank you so much to @LarsBurnus@joewynn_birds and @GenMig 😍🎉

It takes a village to tag the robins and I could not have asked for a better village :D @LarsBurnus@sara_dge@RBorrelia@Pablukas @GenMig @ifv_whv et al. Super excited to see what our robins will be up to this year!
We are happy to announce two new contributions to the Ringers Digiguide: Bohemian Waxwing and Eurasian Teal, both by Jaime Miralles de Imperial, the latter supplemented by Malva Rohman and Larissa Simulik.

Little late for #NationalRobinDay but just in time for Christmas. Our radiotagged robin C93 celebrates in it's breeding territory and is feeling very festive already. It's hoping to get a mealworm for christmas this year. Merry Christmas everyone! 🎄🎁

Looking for a postdoc, reposts are highly appreciated! I'm interested in ecological, physiological, and genetic aspects of the behaviour of birds and other animals; bird vision, magnetoreception; population genetics; bioinformatics. Full CV and contacts are in replies below😀
https://t.co/g4Vlq3WQFB Announcing a new field recording podcast, Wild Bird Acoustic's, which will launch on 1st January 2024, with the release of the first two episodes concurrently. The podcast will relase two episodes a month in 2024. Please share and spread the word...
I just had to have another go at making a Robin, after seeing a Bramble leaf that was just the right colour for the red breast feathers. I wasn't attempting realism last time! 😀#CompostableAutumnArt made entirely from leaves, lichen, twigs and a berry!🍂🍁🍂 @Natures_Voice
Nearly 1,000 migratory birds died at ONE building just this morning in Chicago. Imagine across the whole city.
Please please please consider turning lights off in your home and offices over night as our feathered friends make their journey south!

Even though the diversity and amount of raptors were truly impressive in falsterbo, of course we did not forget our little fluffy passerine friends. 😍Willow Warbler, Spotted Flycatcher snacking a wasp, lesser and common whitethroat feeding on blackberries. #EOU2023 [2/2]
Some impressions of raptor migration at falsterbo during #EOU2023 excursion. Loads of Sparrowhawks and Honey Buzzards with some Ospreys in between and a 1cy Pallid Harrier as my personal highlight! Definitly not my last time in falsterbo! [1/2]
Back Home from #EOU2023. What a great Conference in a lovely country with so many cool and inspiring Talks and Posters. Also, big shoutout to the organizers for making everything work incredibly smooth!
Today I was lucky to control this Whitethroat for the 7th time in 5 years! Originally ringed as an adult in 2019, it is now preparing for it's at least 11th sahara-crossing! #birdmigration still blows my mind! See you next year!
Fascinating bird migration behaviour 50 miles offshore B.C., Canada today, with this Lapland Bunting repeatedly hovering over the ocean, catching a floating insect (I saw downed moths) and coming back to our cruise ship to eat. I wonder how many passerines do similar?
Some learnings from the fieldseason:
- fieldwork is good for backpain (reducing it)
- every fieldseason you get more confused about the study species
- 13 can't be an unlucky number if you get 2 GLS back from birds with 13 as Colourring number
- robins are heckin cute [3/3]
Ready for Take-Off! After nearly 2 months, ~ 200 ringed robins, not many hours of sleep and 5 bottles of mosquito repellent, the third fieldseason is finished! Amazing effort and loads of fun with an amazing team! @c_langebrake @sara_dg@ifv_whv @GenMig and more! [1/3]
Can't wait to see what the robins are going to do this autumn! For now it's back to the desk to finally finish some projects. I think I know atleast 3 people that are happy to hear this 👀😅 @c_langebrake @RBorrelia [2/3]
