The most shocking thing I’ve learned in 6 years of trading.
And honestly, I wish someone had told me this when I started.
You can become a much better trader and still lose money.
Read that again.
Trading is not just about finding the perfect strategy, having a high win rate, or knowing how to analyze the market.
You can have a profitable strategy and still blow an account.
You can have years of experience and still make emotional decisions.
You can correctly predict the market and still lose the trade.
And you can make money for months and then give it all back because of one period of poor risk management.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is this:
Your ability to make money trading is not as important as your ability to keep the money you make.
The market doesn’t reward you for being the smartest person in the room.
It rewards discipline.
It rewards patience.
It rewards risk management.
And most importantly, it rewards the ability to stay in the game long enough for your edge to play out.
After 6 years, I no longer chase trades. I chase longevity.
Because I’ve realized that in Forex, survival is a strategy.
