Today is (technically) my official last day working for @TheStateHornet. I've met so many friends along the way and it was an honor of a lifetime to work with every last one of you. Hopefully I'll return one day to share the knowledge I've gained since, and how TSH got me started
Last night, a bunch of candidates who literally despise America won in NYC. Establishment Dems, who live in fear of their radicalized base, will cave to them. By 2028, people who hate the country and wish to destroy it could be in charge.
We Got Us ✊🏽! Congratulations @DarializaforNY 🔥! We’re building a beautiful movement across our country, powered by the people! @MelatKirosCO & @Justinjpearson y’all got next!!!
As a liberal progressive, I would be fine with the party moving left if these wins were about Medicare for all, reproductive rights, universal childcare, taxing billionaires, and creating affordable housing, But they weren’t.
This right here is exactly why I don't think Buster should shy away from the topic. So that treasonous fuck-wit bigots like Josh Hawley doesn't spread garbage like this on Fox News.
Ignoring it and moving on (like Buster did here) enables the bigots in the fan base and bullpin to think they are the victims. Calling it out causes distrust inside an already bad bullpen and gets you into trouble with the feds
Buster Posey opened his media availability with a prepared statement on the Pride Night controversy, then proceeded to decline to answer further questions on the topic, stating he will only answer "baseball related questions."
Today is primary day in NYC, and Mayor Mamdani and the DSA aren't trying to beat Republicans — they're purging experienced Democrats who won't bend the knee to their hard-left, anti-Israel, class-warfare wing of the party.
Trisha and I lived in NYC for 27 years. Friends and colleagues there still quietly tell us they're uneasy with how far left the party has drifted.
You say you want it back in the middle. Today you can prove it. Three House seats are on the line. If the Mamdani-backed candidates — Claire Valdez, Brad Lander, Darializa Avila Chevalier — sweep, it won't just push the party further left. It will hand the Democratic Socialists a hostile takeover of the New York Democratic Party.
Vote like the future of your party depends on it. Because it does.
Why was it important to write that verse tonight?
ROUPP: "The rainbow is a symbol of God's covenant to us, and us as believers stand firm in that... There's no hate at all."
What would say if somebody considered that derogatory toward them as a community?
ROUPP: "As a believer, I would push them to read the Bible. God has blessed me in so many ways and I don't think I'd be here right now if it wasn't for him."
Having spent time with Xavier Becerra on the campaign trail, I know he will stand strong against Donald Trump and look out for Californians across the state. Californians deserve a governor who will fight for our values and bring down costs, not bend the knee to MAGA extremism that will take our state backwards. I look forward to working with my fellow Democratic candidates to elect @XavierBecerra in November.
