Whatever happened, (I know there’s no room for sentiment) it’s a fact that he put his neck on the line to ensure the club had a future. He loved our club, gave it his all as a player and a manager and seemed to be a thoroughly decent human being. Thank you Shaun Maloney 💙 #wafc

None of us will ever know the facts behind the decision to sack this guy. I know the results and performances at home weren’t where they needed to be, but neither was the quality or balance of youth and experience in the squad he was left with.

@refsupportuk It’s NOT part of football. As a mum of a young ref too this makes me mad & so sad. There can be no game for their children to play without a ref!! Please make sure he sends his full report in incl all the abuse he had to deal with, so the local FA can sort. Good luck to him!
