Both strains were found to be resistant but neither was more resistant than the other. Perhaps increasing sample size would improve results in future experiments. Much work still needed to improve outcomes for resistant bacteria diseases.

We used the colony count method to determine growth. Shapiro-Wilk test showed both datasets to be normally distributed. T-test found that p = 0.1105, which is greater than alpha = 0.05. Therefore there is no statistical difference between the two groups
Authors found that that #photosynthesis and growth of C. acidophila were unaffected by high total iron concentrations and found no evidence of iron toxicity. High iron concentrations, however, reduced phosphorus incorporation & resulted in phosphorus limited photosynthesis
Decreased phosphorus incorporation explains the negative effect of high iron concentrations in the green microalga Chlamydomonas acidophila. Authors test the effects of high iron concentration on photosynthesis/growth.

Authors grew alga in sterilized lake water and in medium w/ varying total iron concentrations under limiting & sufficient inorganic #phosphorus (imp. growth limiting nutrient) supply. They then measured photosynthesis and growth over 5 days.
Authors found a prevalence of 11% for imipenem resistance among clinical isolates. However, neither a common epidemiologic link nor risk factors for imipenem-resistant Serratia could be found. Authors conclude that further research on prevalence/ characteristics are needed.

Authors collected data on cases from computerized databases and chart review. They also performed molecular typing of S. marcescens isolates using pulsed field gel #electrophoresis.
The authors found that the presence of one host species greatly increased the spread of #disease. Since their experiment was statistically significant, they also found that their experiment can be used to model the spread of generalist pathogens.

The authors set up communities with a variety of #plants that were either host species of the virus or not. They then measured the spread of the virus in the communities.
