@RobertJenrick Umm you didn't seem care much about the law for leaseholders despite builders not following rules on building safety but they your are you mates so you passed a law to protect them rather than innocent leaseholders @ukcag#BuildingSafetyCrisis
@harry_horton@itvcalendar This should be unnecessary anxiety @BorisJohnson but sadly the building industry has been deregulated so much that buildings are NOT actually SAFE. Yet the government are doing very little to protect innocent leaseholders from huge bills to fix illegal built buildings.
Exhausted
Fire in next building
Feeling so anxious I can't sleep
When will the #BuildingSafetyCrisis end @RobertJenrick@mhclg@BorisJohnson
When will I get to feel safe in my home.
When will legislation be fit for purpose.
When will the polluters pay to fix there mistakes?
Didn't @RobertJenrick say when announcing that leaseholders had 15 years to sue devlopers as most were built from 2000 (the maths doesn't work here)! How has @mhclg even permitted this? Even if illegal at time they FAILED to regulate it being used. We need robust legislation
@mhclg I am looking for help to fix my first home. Yet the government continues to fails me. New legislation allows you to sue building for sub stand work. How do you pay for this? What about the stress and how does it help me where my building is >15 years & company no longer exists?
@RobertJenrick Millions of leaseholders were excited new homeowners but are facing bankruptcy & mental health issues. As legislation isn't sufficient that homes are legally built to meet safety requirements yet @Conservatives continue to protect devlopers whilst making innocent leaseholders pay
@mhclg @thesundaytimes Leaseholders are footing the bill...insurance costs increased, waking watch costs, remediation works for other fire safety works costs. My service charge has doubled. We have been rejected from BSF. Can't sell. Please explain how are think Leaseholders not paying? @ukcag
@RobertJenrick 4 years on my home still has ACM cladding alongside many other fire safety defects.
Things could have been done at Greenfell to reduce fire risks despite residents raising them.
The government continues not to listen or implement legislation to prevent this happening again π
@EOCS_Official Seems a very distant memory. Not optimistic about the number of years it will take to return & even then the mental health aspect of the issue will mean it will never be the same again π @BorisJohnson is this really your reward for hard working home owners? You could change this
@CommonsHCLG Will that be an update on more ways you are going to destroy my life further and other leaseholders too? Or are you finally going to admit its #BuildingSafetyCrisis caused by years of poor legislation & poor building and checks #notjustcladding
@WharfPotato@RishiSunak @Lendleaseuk Would love to be a mover but sadly #BuildingSafetyCrisis means I can't sell or remortgage. My building was illegal built & signed off. Yet innocent leaseholders are expected to pay Β£50k whilst you reward those who caused it? When will I be able to move?
Kept awake by neighbours party. Woken to ACM remediation works but turned down for other #BuildingSafetyCrisis probably be doing building work as leaseholders try to get Β£50k each for next 10 + years. I am exhausted when will this nightmare end @RishiSunak@team_greenhalgh
