Care and support help make all other work possible.
This includes for persons with disabilities, and those with dependents with disabilities.
It's in all our interests to value those who care for us and to ensure they have #DecentWork.

Care work is the foundation of societies. Yet the way care is organized reinforces gender & social inequalities.
I urge Member States to take forward @ILO's Resolution on Decent Work & the Care Economy to improve care provision, decent care work, and gender equality.

International Day of Care and Support is a day to celebrate carers and to push for change in the way we care.
This means investment in the care economy, and policies to guarantee maternity protection, parental leave, early childhood education & care, and long-term care services.
