Enjoyed getting out to thx the incredible @wmata team launching Better Bus. Got to hand out cold water & snacks on a hot day to operators, supervisors & some of our volunteer admin team. This is a Metro-wide team effort to ensure customers have the info they need to get around.

We’re only 100 DAYS AWAY from the launch of Metro’s new bus network on Sunday, June 29! Here’s a look at what it takes to update the nearly 7,000 bus stop signs in our system. Did you know we had *that* many signs? 🤯 Check out the process!
We’re thrilled to see the first new bus signs go up as part of our Better Bus initiative! These temporary signs show the current route name & the new route name, which will go into effect on 6/29. Thanks to our crews responsible for changing out over 7k signs across the region!
About 7,000 bus stop signs are being updated for our Better Bus launch on June 29. Metro is making signs easier to read & optimizing service across the region. Plus, our 202-GO-METRO will help customers contact customer service for trip planning & more. ➡️ https://t.co/emOnUYdEUY

While we wait for election results here’s a good summary by @washingtonpost@rachelweinerwp on @wmata’s Better Bus network re-design and how it is driven by community engagement so we can make the 🚌 system work for more people, more efficiently. #wmata https://t.co/bJM7IAlRp5
