On this day in 1944, 150,000 Allied soldiers are being loaded onto ships all across southern England. Tomorrow, they'll take part in history's greatest invasion.
“At that time, we didn't know it was D-Day," one veteran would later recall. "We just knew we had a job to do.”
@ashleyschendel@Leg0King It takes less time to back in than to back out. You have observational knowledge of the parking situations backing in. Blind spots, pedestrians, and traffic make backing out slowing and more tentative
@kershaw_alex@WWIIMemorial My Dad landed in Ste Mere Eglise with the 82nd. He brought a parachute back so his girlfriend could make a wedding dress. My mother’s dress is now on display in the 82nd Airborne Museum at Ft. Bragg. AATW!
Only people who know how to drive will back into parking spaces.

My employer of 30 years required back-in or pull-through parking on all company cars. Offenders discovered their error at their quarterly reviews. Once you master it, you never go back to pull-in parking.

Only two pitchers since 1988 have thrown 30+ innings with an ERA below 0.25 in any single month. They both did it this month. It’s Cristopher Sánchez and Jacob Misiorowski.

@SlepeOnBase@WallStreetApes Many/most commercial varieties of common crops, including Del Monte non-genetically engineered varieties, are protected under the Plant Variety Protection Act. It costs millions to develop elite hybrids and varieties that have beneficial aspects for consumers
