.@PharmGuildAus must come clean on its true stance on vaping reforms. Publicly, the guild says it's never had a "policy position" of listing vapes as schedule 2 medicines, but what was said behind closed doors to Senators? @SenatorJordon's comments in the Senate are concerning.
Senate has just passed legislation to protect Australians from Big Vape and Big Tobacco.
It’s a world-leading law.
More importantly, it will mean up to 1,000 fewer teenagers will get hooked, every single week.
MEDIA RELEASE: New legislation restricts vape sales to pharmacies only, addressing the near-tripling of vaping rates in 4 years. Quit stands ready to help those aiming to overcome nicotine addiction. Visit https://t.co/QWJV4PJbzZ or call 13 78 48. https://t.co/Iuj5b8AQXc
Here’s what it means:
✅ It will keep vapes out of reach of children
✅ It will put a stop to predatory marketing
✅ Adults will still be able to quit smoking using vapes from a pharmacy, as lastline therapy
✅ There will be new penalties for retailers possessing banned vapes
We welcome the news today that the Senate has passed the vaping reforms bill!
This is a huge step forward for the health of young people.
Our sincere thanks to all the politicians who supported this Bill, and the tireless efforts of everyone involved.

Nicotine is highly addictive and before you know it, what starts as occasional becomes something more serious. But it’s never too late to quit, which is why the we’re providing support for Australians to quit with new campaigns and an updated Quitline and the My QuitBuddy app.
