Yesterday, my @CSUHistoryGP Georgia Hist class took a tour of @Port_Columbus courtesy of an Experiential Learning Grant. They learned about naval history, Civil War industrialization, the war's impact on Columbus, & material culture. They saw some artifacts & the archives.

#hurricanehelene shifted enough to the East that we fared better than anticipated. We got some rain and 1 tiny tree knocked over but overall, we are in good shape.

Im reading students' Reflections on Quasi War, Barbary Wars, & War of 1812. Collectively, they <3ed learning about John Paul Jones, noted that adding a naval perspective complicates our understanding of mil hist & foreign relations (n a good way), & learned about new wars
My dept (@ISUHistoryEd) is HIRING tenure-track (asst/assc) prof of history & social studies education. Candidates should have PhD in history, secondary teaching experience, & ability/willingness to teach methods to aspiring history teachers. Share widely please!
