🚨DR UK's Statement on planned benefits cuts🚨
📢 We are shocked and appalled by the Government’s planned cuts to disability benefits. These changes will push millions into deeper poverty.
We refuse to stay silent - read our full statement below.
🗣️'The government does not need a swathe of shiny new “support” initiatives – or “ruthless” cuts'.

No Labour government should be spending their rare moments in power flagging benefit fraud. Benefit rates in this country are so low that many claimants can’t afford food, utilities or rent. That’s the story. If a Labour PM can’t be trusted to know that, something is very wrong.

So Rishi Sunak – the richest MP in history – is going to become Prime Minister, with plans to cut funding for public services and slash workers' wages.
This Tory class war will be waged with no mandate, without a single vote being cast.

SOME NEWS.
I’m so excited to finally be able to say I’m writing a new book - a lifestyle guide for disabled women for @FigTreePenguin out in 2025. It’s a love letter to disabled women everywhere. With jokes.

The Tory’s ongoing attempt to make the public envy disabled and chronically ill people unable to work is genuinely staggering. Imagine seeing a young mum diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis and suggesting “fairness” means *she’s* the lucky one living a life of Riley.
Really interesting listen by @novaramedia interviewing @EllenClifford1 about some of the issues in her book The War on Disabled People https://t.co/VwxGgwczkp
The rising cost of living is damaging the physical & mental health of Disabled people, creating a humanitarian crisis. Many Disabled people cannot afford basic bills for care, food and energy. This is unacceptable in 2022. Act now & write to your MP:
