Very pleased to say that yesterday I passed my PhD viva with no corrections! (Still stunned this morning..!)
Huge thanks to my brilliant supervision team @TomBuchanan99 & Orkun Yetkili, and to @Karen_Douglas & Nick Smith for making it such an enjoyable viva

@thameswater .@thameswater it also feels that the needs of those of us who do live in flats is being completely dismissed in your statements. At this point it is only reasonable to give us a rough timeframe of how much longer this will persist so we can make plans (a few more days, a week…)
.@thameswater still no water since Tuesday night in se20. Your update page doesn’t mention the new big leaks that have appeared here since then (e.g. across anerley) - please can we be given more info about the overall situation, not just the one pipe?
Vid of anerley last night
@thameswater .@thameswater not acknowledging these new leaks in your comms is frankly unacceptable when we’re encountering them as rivers of water streaming down our roads after having now spent 3 days without water to our homes
Fuming. We lost water last night, and no sign of it coming back anytime soon. Impacting Thousands of homes, as well as 11 care homes and 29 schools according to the BBC.
@thameswater eventually set up a water station (45min bus away) but then shut it less than 2 hours later…

@SophieLongley4 I once had someone laugh in my face when I told them what my undergrad was in, and it's hard to change the minds of those people. In contrast my own supervisors were genuinely interested in my previous career and understood what it brought to my work. It makes a huge difference!
@SophieLongley4 That also isn't to say that there aren't people out there who don't always understand the potential of those of us with different backgrounds. But do feel free to reach out if I can help in any way or if you have any questions about my own experience?
@SophieLongley4 For context my undergrad was in fashion design (graduated in 2011 then worked in PR for several years). I can think of at least two others from my MSc cohort who are doing research PhDs (and others from other year groups). So that’s to say, try not to listen to those people!!

Attacks on universities, libraries & citizens advice are attacks on social mobility and the civic realm
Solidarity with @TeessideUni that does so much to empower Middlesbrough & has been the victim of indiscriminate aggression today
Also huge thanks to everyone @UniWestminster who worked hard to make it such a great day, to all those from @UoWPsych who came over to say hi afterwards, and to @peter_bonfield for helping make the event extra special for PhD grads ✨
Had a wonderful time at my @UniWestminster#PhD graduation last Friday. Was a truly special day ✨
Thanks to all who made it along to support (incl. my family, my brilliant DoS @tombuchanan99 and great friends @DrTashaRama & Kathryn H) or watched online (incl. @BethanyJCliffe).
