Not for upgrades, not for verification, not for any reason at all. If someone calls you for your PIN, that's all you need to know. Hang up and call your bank. Shine your eye. Spot the fraud, stop the fraud.

The Ghana Association of Banks (GAB) has launched a six-month nationwide anti-fraud campaign to combat rising financial fraud and protect trust in Ghana’s financial system.

Under the theme “SPOT THE FRAUD, STOP THE FRAUD” and hashtag #ShineYourEyes, the campaign will educate the public on how to identify, prevent, and report fraud targeting bank accounts, mobile money wallets, and digital platforms.

Speaking at the launch, GAB President and MD of Stanbic Bank Ghana, Mr. Kwamina Asomaning, described fraud as a direct attack on trust within the financial system.

GAB CEO, Mr. John Awuah, emphasized that fraud is now a major strategic and reputational risk requiring a coordinated industry-wide response.

Closing the event, MD of Absa Bank Ghana, Mr. Edward Nartey Botchway, urged everyone to play their part in fighting fraud.
