Leading Victorian QCs have written an open letter expressing their deep concern about new pandemic powers which have passed Victoria’s lower house. The QCs warn the laws would effectively allow the Vic govt to “rule by decree” and amount to a “blank cheque”#covid19vic#springst
@Dee_Ryall Does "how to quantify it exactly (the curfew) is very hard to say" pass the the test of reasonable proportionality? Decisions must be supported by evidence. This approach is based on the past zero target. 🔨
Hey @VicGovDH do you know the COVID hotline is telling asymptomatic COVID positive patients to get a day 13 day re-test (they dont need to) and then your dept thinks they are a new positive and sms to say isolate for ANOTHER 14 days? Pts getting clearance and sms on the same day.
I’ll tell you what Victorians are sick of. Our State Government every day just blaming, berating, abusing everyone else.
Never taking ownership or responsibility for our situation.
We want leadership and direction.
That’s what we want.
If @VicGovDH does not provide sensible leadership and directives when we have a Covid exposure, all healthcare systems will grind to a halt.
It’s one of the additional reasons that our hospitals are under strain.
Sorry @TcameronTodd you had to go through this.
The Victorian courts and VCAT have released a cross-jurisdictional message regarding the latest COVID-19 update. Read the message: https://t.co/uZGzXyF1ZO #auslaw
@heidimur Victoria will enter a period of potentially some of the most interesting and important judicial decisions and case law creation in history...
“We’re not going to see, you know, 300s and 400s again in Victoria, not under my watch at least.”

800 ppl died because according to @WorkSafe_Vic there were 58 breaches during the Hotel Q debacle last year. But not one individual has been charged. Taxpayers look like paying the 95 million dollar fines nothing is happening to the 16 people who organised it. #Victoria .
Can you believe it.
In Victoria tomorrow we have a public holiday for an event we lost to Perth.
A long weekend where because of Lockdown we can't move around the State, Then on Sat night we can watch the event we lost, on our own without friends.
@AussieVal10 The law of the instrument bias is when one acquires a new skill, they tend to see opportunities to use it everywhere. 'Golden Hammer'. The health advice...
Daniel Andrews is secretly drafting new State of Emergency laws - as the current power ends soon.
The Government is using these powers to roll-out mandatory ‘no jab, no job’ policy.
Labor must release the draft, so Victorians know what is in the Government’s secret laws.
If there is one issue that pro- and anti-lockdown ppl should agree on, it’s that hospital capacity should be non-negotiable. With rising vaccination, the big, scary numbers being used by politicians to terrify the community often don’t match reality https://t.co/CrwuYjf6Sg
Police Association CEO Wayne Gatt gave telling evidence to a parl inquiry today.
Restrictions like curfew take “resources away from what is core”.
“None of them are rules we’ve asked for”.
Remember: Daniel Andrews said the opposite.

The state government is utterly incapable of uniting Victorians at one of the most fractious points in our history. Their constant divide and conquer mentality is abhorrent to the vast majority.
Victoria COVID: Burnet modelling of deaths ‘too pessimistic’
The physics professor from Monash is not as convinced. “I will be extremely surprised if Victoria comes anywhere near Burnet’s modelling numbers,” Professor Fuhrer said.
I’m backing Prof Fuhrer https://t.co/WPyGJLIkAX
