I'm really happy that in #TSUQueerYA we are reading a book with ace rep. Too often I see people trying to keep ace out of LGBTQ+ and it's disheartening, so reading a book where the MC is ace in a queer class feels refreshing and good 😊

While a happy ending to Kindred mightve been easier to read, we must remember that slaves didnt get a happy ending. Rufus didnt free his slaves, Alice didnt escape, white ppl didnt have a change of heart. That is US history, whether we're willing to accept it or not #TSUSouthLit

Update: I finished reading last night, and without giving away any spoilers, I am defs satisfied with Marcus' ending :) maybe I'm a bad person but I don't even feel a little sorry for him #TSUQueerYA

Marcus is basically the textbook definition of a manipulative abuser. Even when he does "nice" things for Henry, it's always for his own benefit. I'm almost at the end and he's not dead yet. Fingers crossed #TSUQueerYA

@JaqueWithA_Q Agree with all of this. I really hope that by the end we see him get help from someone. If not a therapist then at the very least someone he can trust. It kills me to see him suffering like this #TSUQueerYA
