Ahmed is one of them. A young man responsible for his family, forced by famine to seek food aid only to be severely injured while his uncle was killed before his eyes. The trauma he carries is both physical and psychological, and it hasn’t stopped.

Ahmed cannot walk yet he is responsible for an entire family with no income, no medical support, and no way to afford the care he urgently needs. His story reflects a wider crisis where the wounded are left without help long after the headlines about food distribution sites, the killings, fade.

But we are working to bring some of that dignity back. On Sunday, March 15, 2026, The Sameer Project organized an Iftar distribution for fasting families inside Al-Anan and Al-Diwan camps, Gaza City.

We distributed 765 hot meals of rice and meat, along with 765 packs of dates, water bottles, and large yogurts. Each meal costs 23.28 shekels ($8.34 after 11% commission), totaling $6,380 for the entire distribution.

Three Ramadans under genocide have changed everything, but they haven't erased our traditions. Your support helps us keep these tables full.
