This is a great way of adapting to technology and sharing insights and experiences with other people.
If there’s a follow up date I would be genuinely interested in learning more with critical thinking people.
@MelHomeschools You did such a good job. I love this one!
I've been reading this book this week and I'm not usually much of a quilter, but watching you I'm feeling inspired to maybe try some red white and blue quilt motifs that were symbols of freedom and/or echoed hymns and spirituals.
Look around at Kitty Hawk. What feels like impossibly old history the Wright brothers’ first flights in 1903 actually isn’t that far back when you look at the pace of progress.
The first American astronaut splashed down in the ocean after orbiting Earth in 1962 (John Glenn).
From Kitty Hawk in 1903 to that first orbital splashdown was 59 years.
Now fast-forward the same amount of time from 1962… and you land right around today (or the upcoming Artemis crewed splashdown).
In other words:
The time it took us to go from the first airplane to humans orbiting Earth and splashing down…
is about the same as the time we’ve already spent since that first spaceflight.
Standing here, you’re not looking at some distant prehistoric achievement. You’re standing at one end of a single, unbroken sprint of human ingenuity that got us from a 12-second hop along the sand to the Moon and back and we’re still sprinting.
First stop in OBX is always the Wright Brothers National Memorial. It’s amazing to think that they made the first flight in 1903 and we were on the moon 66 years later.
Anyone remember the “Liberty Belle” banana seat made for Grants a sporting goods store for the Bicentennial Celebration?
50 years later anyone still have one for the America 250 celebration?
Our Rose Garden is a favorite strolling spot this time of year🌹
Lush color and fragrant blooms of heirloom and modern varietals decorate paths, and views of Biltmore House add to the romantic feel of this garden space.

I appreciate you for sharing my post about AI and the negative effects it can have on writing and proofreading.
I recently got to check a book written by a human and edited by AI. It missed a lot of simple stuff!

AI doesn't think, it averages and makes a lousy editor.

As a child I went in a coin store and bought an envelope “chance” 35 years ago. It had a 1852 one cent. I shared it with my best friend who then gave me a Franklin half. Just he and I knew what box I wrapped them in a handkerchief. So when they suddenly both went missing I gave him a Liberty coin so he could argue it was an Indian cent. We never spoke about the other two coins. But seeing one as similar to the one I had made me hope it started something meaningful even today.
Thanks for sharing.
The black stone walls of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial are inscribed with the names of the more than 58,000 American servicemembers who died during the Vietnam conflict. Though controversial at its creation, Maya Lin's groundbreaking design is now one of the Mall's most beloved sites. We hope to see you there on Memorial Day. #WashingtonDC
Yesterday marked the 234th birthday of the New York Stock Exchange; a cornerstone of Columbia’s enduring legacy! 🇺🇸
On May 17, 1792, 24 brokers signed the Buttonwood Agreement under a Wall Street tree, bringing order and fairness to trading after the Panic of 1792.
From those humble beginnings, the NYSE grew into the world’s premier exchange — powering the prosperity, innovation, and opportunity that define America.
Here’s to Columbia, capitalism, and 234 years of markets! 📈🗽
Daughters of the American Revolution have contribute largely to many of the plaques this one pair as well with the same style font as many of the others just perhaps the first time I ever seen it spell out daughters of the American Revolution and not just DAR.
Likewise at a cemetery it’s typically a single blue star on the grave that gives designation for a member of the DAR. Hope you know how much appreciation goes into. You’re taking the time to share this.
@JBONAMASSA@MartinGuitar The donor may have hoped it would be appreciated. This proves that to be completely true. But there’s so much more to it than this, hope you share your story soon. Thanks @MartinGuitar and for sharing Mr. Bonamassa
@TomMcMillan63 Right off interstate 80, Pennsylvania in Turobtville is where Washington’s Bodyguard is buried.
Not far from there is where Washington’s Philadelphia watch key was found. Send me a note and I’ll catch you up.
