STRANGE BEDFELLOWS: At Capitol after several sources told @12new that @GOP lawmakers are negotiating with the state teachers union on a modest ESA reform bill that could go to voters. Union wants to kill anti-union referral while @GOP doesn’t want ESA voucher initiative on ballot
👏 What an absolutely absurd ordinance. You want to punish people for feeding the hungry? How about you work on solving homelessness? @CityofPhoenixAZ@MayorGallego
Karmelo Anthony, a Black teenager, has been sentenced to 35 years in prison after being convicted by a jury with no Black jurors. Whatever one believes about the verdict itself, we cannot ignore the larger truth that many Americans are wrestling with: justice is still being administered through a system with a long history of racial disparity in sentencing and punishment.
This requires more than reaction. It requires moral honesty about who is deemed dangerous, whose pain is centered, and how differently accountability has often been applied in America. If we want justice worthy of its name, it cannot be shaped by race.

Republicans gutted public education in Arizona to fund private school vouchers. Now they want to export that failure nationwide through a private school voucher tax credit.
Today, with @RepGwenMoore, I introduced the Keep Public Dollars in Public Schools Act to repeal this giveaway and keep public dollars in public schools where they belong.
The private ed push continues. Despite acknowledgment in Aug by AZ GOP Chair that voucher loopholes enabled wasteful spending, AZ Republicans are poised to hold the line. Again. No new restrictions and no income cap, academic testing , or fingerprint registration requirements.
Years of complaining about all manner of things and it’s calling out the ESA that finally gets me trolls. 🤷♀️ Makes me more excited to vote to reform that corrupt waste of money in November. Stop free riding on the rest of us and pay for your own private school. ✌️😘 #esa #education #arizona #grift
Happy Pride Month 🌈
This month, we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community across U.S. Soccer and throughout the ecosystem of the game. We believe soccer is stronger when everyone feels seen, supported, and empowered to show up fully as themselves. Here’s to a month of celebration, connection, and belonging.
And I love how all these ESA fanatics that just want a subsidy from the rest of us pretend this is about choice. You have two free choices. You want something else, pay for it yourself. And let’s not pretend these people aren’t using ESA money for trips and lingerie and jewelry and college tuition! Absurd. #esa #arizona #education @votewarren
Arizona ranks dead last in student-to-teacher ratio and 49th in per-pupil funding. The educators who know this best aren't just complaining, they're running for office to change it. https://t.co/fsUr3stOh7
The ESA is horrible public policy. Let’s take public money and give it to rich people to attend private schools while we simultaneously erode our public school system. Absurd. It’s the privatization of a public good. It should be eliminated entirely, but reforms are a good start. @GovernorHobbs@AZAGMayes@votewarren #education #esa #arizona
@angrytexasboy@RobSchneider It is quite literally the worst one in the country! It was the first to be universal and that was against the will of AZ voters. There are no safety measures in place and no transparency for taxpayers.
"My union quite literally saved my teaching career. I am still in this profession because I finally experienced what it feels like to work with clear expectations, fair treatment & collective strength behind me."
Educators are speaking out on how HCR 2040 will hurt our state.👇
