UGANET in the Field | Lamwo
UGANET, together with @PoliceUg, Office of the Prime Minister (@OPMUganda) and @Refugees, conducted a community awareness and policing session in Zone 5A, Palabek Settlement, Lamwo District.
The session focused on crime prevention, access to justice and the role of community members in promoting safety and peaceful coexistence.
We engaged both refugee and host communities, strengthening their understanding of how they can work together to prevent crime, access justice and build safer, more peaceful communities.

UGANET in the Field | Lamwo
UGANET’s Lamwo Field Office trained JLOS actors, including police, judicial officers, prosecutors, RWCs, OPM, UNHCR and legal officers, on child-sensitive juvenile justice.
The sessions covered key principles of juvenile justice, police handling, arrest and detention, plea taking, diversion, legal representation and the roles of different actors in protecting children’s rights.
Through experience-sharing and practical discussions, participants strengthened their understanding of child-friendly procedures, coordination and diversion, with a focus on safeguarding children’s rights, dignity and best interests.
