#NEW: Organizers of @SyracuseU pro-Palestinian encampment sent out an official statement today saying they have parted ways with one of their organizers. Sources familiar with the situation tell @CitrusTVNews that Aziza Zahran is accused of making “harmful antisemitic remarks” in a 2012 Twitter post.
“We made the decision that they step down from organizing,” said the organization.
CitrusTV confirmed yesterday that Zahran was an SU graduate student.

#WATCH: “We are going to stay here until our demands are met,” said Adeline Spallina Jones, a pro-Palestinian student involved in the SU Shaw Quad encampment.
As the pro-Israeli rally marched by the encampment, pro-Palestinians remained silent.
“We [pro-Palestinians] are not here to cause any violence,” said Jones.

Chabad's statement follows Syracuse Hillel's address to the encampment, released yesterday morning. Hillel says they are "closely monitoring the situation [...] in different areas", including "The Anti-Israel Encampment", the SA resolution, and with an address to students.

The Coalition is saying they back university students who support Palestine and calls on SU "to not use its power to silence student dissent".

BREAKING: Student Association leaders are condemning an organizer of the Gaza encampment at Syracuse University for “antisemitic remarks” made in the past.
Sources familiar with the situation tell @CitrusTVNews that SU graduate student Aziza Zahran is accused of posting in 2012 that “Hitler was a great man” and “I WISH HITLER WOULD HAVE FINISHED WHAT HE STARTED!”
I’ve reached out to Zahran for comment, but she has yet to respond.
