You cannot fight colonialism with a colonial army. And this is a fatal flaw common among African nations and the rest of the Global South that was once a colonial project. We keep trying to apply cosmetic make-up to an existing colonial system instead of doing what is necessary and which is burning that system to the ground. The delusion of merely "improving" the military or shuffling government officials ignores a glaring reality: there will always be sell-outs, a deadly Fifth Column, in any colonial project. The colonial masters don't just extract the wealth of their victim nations. They meticulously engineer a local comprador class within the host nation. These are people who, by virtue of their Western education, psychological conditioning, inherited societal privileges, and foreign-funded endowments, are sympathetic to this colonial system by default. They will fight with their very lives to defend the machinery that subjugates their own people. Most of these traitors have kids in foreign boarding schools, offshore bank accounts, and fat real estate investments to protect in the West. They thrive on the corruption and bribes that allow colonial extraction to continue with absolute impunity. They enjoy the privilege of private jet holidays in Western capitals, premium foreign healthcare, and dual citizenships to flee to just in case the nation erupts in flames. These people are the ultimate Fifth Column in our society. They are, quite literally, white imperialists wearing black masks. They are the lingering, parasitic ghosts of the colonial masters. When Sani Abacha came to power in Nigeria in 1993, the enemy was not just Western sanctions, the IMF and World Bank economic hitmen, or the hostile global media apparatus. He also had to battle the Fifth Column within Nigeria. These elites set up NADECO under the fraudulent pretense of fighting for the restoration of democratic governance, when in reality, they were actively lobbying for foreign interventions and economic strangulation to bring their own nation to its knees on behalf of their Western masters. The recent Saturday terror attacks in Mali happened mainly due to this exact Fifth Column, and this is an internal rot that Russian troops cannot defend against. It doesn't matter if Mali develops the technology to bypass Starlink, blind the terrorists' drones, or sever foreign supply chains. They will always have these traitors deeply embedded in the military architecture of the state, who will gladly lend their services to the CIA and French intelligence. And this vicious reality is universally true for all countries once under colonial rule. When Iran purged the Western-backed Shah who was a puppet that was basically extracting Iranian oil and minerals to funnel into Western capitals, the West did not retreat, instead they regrouped and backed the Saddam Hussein government. And just a year later, Saddam was raining missiles on Iran and flattening cities across the country. Yet, even while Iran was at the war front fighting Iraqi troops, their domestic Fifth Column developed a local mujahideen (the MEK) within Iran to sabotage the Iranian military (the Artesh). The Iranian army would be at the battlefield, while another sect loyal to the West was staging violent protests and attacking soldiers from behind. They were literally selling out the locations of top Iranian government officials, resulting in targeted assassinations that threatened to cripple the entire Regime. It was in this crucible of betrayal that Iran came to terms with a brutal truth that African nations today must painfully acknowledge. The conventional army set up by the colonial masters may look tough and well-trained on paper, but in reality, their true expertise is protecting mineral sites for multinational corporations, brutally policing the state, crushing domestic dissent, and executing military coups whenever Paris or Washington demands it. The Supreme Leader of Iran recognized that the local Artesh was docile and built solely for conventional warfare. The fatal flaw with a regular army is that these men are only loyal to their sterile military doctrines and chain of command, not to the ideological leadership or the survival of the State. Even if you decapitate the government today and install a new head, they would simply switch allegiances. Their salaries will still be paid, their illicit commissions and bonuses will still clear, regardless of whether the man occupying the highest seat in the country is French-backed, American-backed, or backed by Lucifer in Hell. It doesn't matter who wins the next election; the Nigerian military officials will still retain their unchecked powers. They will still have private armies running illicit errands for them, they will still enjoy subsidized foreign healthcare, and lucrative kickbacks from defense contracts. In fact, they are far more likely to prosper under a compliant, Western-backed stooge than under any genuinely patriotic leader who thinks the West has no right to freely loot Nigerian wealth and threatens to cut the bloated cost of governance in the name of actual nation-building. It was exactly this brutal realization that drove the Islamic Republic of Iran to set up the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Now Iran operates two distinct military units in the same country: the normal, inherited military (the Artesh) whose job is strictly conventional border defense. The IRGC, on the other hand, was forged specifically to defend the Revolution. The IRGC receives massive funding, dwarfing the regular military. They have their own proprietary weapons, armored tank divisions, elite intelligence networks, and cutting-edge aerospace capabilities entirely independent of the regular state bureaucracy. Now, this may look like an unnecessary duplication until you realize they operate under entirely different doctrines. The regular army fights on standard military orders; they will lay down their arms if a new boss rides into town. The IRGC, however, fights for the absolute survival of the state. Their salaries, their societal benefits, their loans, and practically the air they breathe depend entirely upon the survival of the anti-imperialist structure. They will fight invaders and traitors to the absolute death because they are fighting for their own existential survival. This is why I keep saying that you cannot improve upon a colonial system. It must be aggressively dismantled or replaced. Colonialism is an inherently predatory beast, and its basic apparatus was meticulously designed for two purposes only: to extract resources and to protect the comprador class that facilitates it. Mali and the rest of our brothers in the Sahel desperately need to unite and become a single, impenetrable sovereign state. More importantly, they must set up a completely different, ideologically driven army to ruthlessly defend their Revolution, just like Iran did.

I would honestly respect any African defending their ancestors' religion (spirituality) more than all these weak and embarrassing defences of Christianity, Islam and Judaism. I do not subscribe to any at all tho, whether African or not. I think they are all 100% man-made.
