One of the funnest things about facilitating online is seeing the microphones turn on and off during breakout groups. ๐๏ธ
It's pretty special to witness people communicating with each other, even without the details.

In the interest of celebrating small wins & miraculous events, let it be known that:
I went to a local bookstore looking for a specific item.
I discovered the item was not in the store...
I left WITHOUT BUYING ANYTHING.
Miracles do happen. Change is possible๐

@BiaResearcher@scrintal I'd love to see your approach, esp the research use case. I've been playing in @scrintal for a while, but it hasn't "clicked" for me yet.
Starting team meetings with a check-in &/or having regular team check-ins is such an important part of leadership practice. Check-ins prime the behaviours that make collaboration possible. Here's a website with some great check-in resources: https://t.co/OfADAtcfwZ & a framework for an end of week check-in, if you wanted to start tomorrow. Graphic: @heyamberrae via @TCI_ca
Sharing this with my fellow conveners, container holders, and change-makers.
"Systems convener" definitely fits the work I've done and love to do.
Also, check out the Systems Convening book.
I feel seen. You might too. ๐

Friday Facilitator Musings
For my facilitator colleagues:
This week you:
โ๏ธ Served the work of changing systems
โ๏ธ Showed up fully
โ๏ธ Stayed present
You've done enough. ๐
For clients and participants:
You have
โ๏ธ Created an opening for change
โ๏ธ Tried working in new ways
โ๏ธ Stayed with it
๐ฉ Take one action today that you were inspired by during the workshop.
Then, you've done enough. ๐
Sharing this because it is important for #engineering & all of us.
This may be the entry point or reference someone needs to start or go deeper in #DEI transformation.
The @RAEngNews award winner @MarkMcBW of @EqualEngineers@UCLEngineering "shakes" things up in the new @theNAEng Perspective arguing for a #DEI strategy that seeks to address sexism, systemic racism, or homophobia from a point of empathy.

On my first day as a solopreneur in 2019, I spent a few minutes doodling stick figures.
Lots of dancers. One is wearing a party hat.
The only one with a face is judging.
Says a lot about where my headspace was.
Thanks, old notebook. ๐ฅณ
