repeat after me:
dear universe, i'm not asking for small favors this time. i am asking for the unthinkable to finally line up. may this month rearrange what i thought was impossible, turn endings into new beginnings, and remind me that miracles exist for people like me.
This is absolutely an interesting take that I fundamentally disagree with as both someone who invited people to my shows and as someone who has been the interviewee wearing multiple hats. The platform doesn't belong to the host either. It's a curation space that is co-owned by stakeholders.
Once there is disproportionate asymmetry, you then get to a point where some people refuse interviews and the presenters/anchors get bewildered as to why. No one is an intruder.
The kindest thing literature does is remind you that your peculiar little feelings have always existed. Someone, in some century, was equally confused by love, bored by society, tired of performing, and hungry for meaning.
There are two things that make my skin crawl and I consider them unacceptable.
1. Spouse having outside children and expecting you to stay.
2. A woman lying about the paternity of a child.
Cruelty on a level I can’t begin to articulate
I'm pretty sure @wendyknowler had a similar matter a few months ago with the same Telco. A father had called in. His son had passed...they were either requesting payment or wouldn't accept cancelation of contract. Think it was the @RelebogileM show. Disgraceful either way.
My mom passed away late April. A death certificate and death notice are not sufficient for @MTNza to cancel her month to month contract - they need a doc from the Master's Office - which can take up to three months (or more!). In the meantime, they still bill a dead person.
More than 40 years ago, I arrived in Chicago in search of an idea. I was a young man looking for purpose, who believed deeply in America, was inspired by the Civil Rights Movement, and wanted to be a part of something larger. The America I believed in was one where everyone has opportunity, everyone is seen, everyone belongs—because that was an America that had a place for me, too.
Every time I think Jonas can’t get worse, the writers pull out another scene and I have to apologise for doubting them. 😭This scene is heartbreaking 💔 #ThePolygamist
