Now these are excellent quality plants, organic and in individual soil blocks. But 6 leeks for £3.00? I didn’t say much, it was hard to breathe actually. Shock affects me that way!
Leek sowing time. Autumn Mammoth, Lyon and old favourite Musselburgh. I always sow mine direct then lift and dib out later. Can't be faffing about with seeds trays, compost and potting on for crops that don't really need it #allotment#GrowYourOwn#GYO

One of the many things I love about growing is the way it connects you to seasons. If I’m honest I find these short days tough you’re hardly out of bed before the light is beginning to fade #growyourown#allotments https://t.co/rbdfnGw2wG
Garlic doesn’t like to sit in water, so if your soil is heavy and holds water try putting about an inch of sand into the base of the planting hole to help with drainage and stop the rot https://t.co/HZOGJ0HsM9
It is a good time to split rhubarb, dig up the old crowns & split from the top down with a spade into three or four. Leave on the surface so they get frosted before planting out in early Spring https://t.co/mCXI8IBljU
Tonight there will be lots of bonfires across the country. We are pleading with every one of our 199000 followers to share this video to save hedgehog lives. #rememberhedgehogs Ready....steady... GO! https://t.co/jKmTpK9ItO
Hope you all had a lovely weekend 🧡🌸 🦋
I’m struggling quite a bit on the mental health front again so will be taking some time out this week. It’s been creeping up on me for a couple of weeks now, I’ve done my best to fight it but I’m just completely exhausted now 1/2💛
Believe it or not, this #BankHoliday weekend is supposed to be a warm one! Please remember to offer shallow bowls of water for thirsty hedgehogs, like the one in this video from Paul Bunyard.
Hi #herefordhour, been very busy this morning judging the @LedAllotment . Very tricky job as there are a lot of stunning plots.
Superb location to enjoy our #herefordshire countryside too
As a beekeeper I don’t think it’s that bad this year. The winter was milder and shorter than last year and the bees came out swarming early this year. We shouldn’t get complacent though, they have enough to contend with.
We were kindly lent a bee hive by a member of @LedAllotment for the children to look at. They handled the frames & observed the cells. We learned the names of the different bees that live in the hive & looked at a selection of honeycomb. The Ledbury honey was tasty too!
