How childhood trauma can impact brain development. Please share for awareness. Healing is possible for all of us— support to those breaking the cycle 💜
1. Pushing someone away when we have strong feelings for them.
We want connection, but connection wasn't safe in our past so we subconsciously engage in behavior that pushes people away because we can't trust connection.
2. Committing to things we know we don't have time for
People pleasers fear saying no or disappointing anyone. Being liked makes us feel safe, so over-committing (even though it creates stress) is a consistent pattern.
You do not have to host a meeting to let people go.
You don’t have to confront them.
You don’t have to call.
Sometimes closure is moving on.
Peace to each of you navigating tough relationships.
💜
Stay away from people who have an issue with your healing and happiness but were cool with you when you were sick and depressed…. Them ain’t your people! Love you!
I want you to know, sometimes
Healing is lonely
Growth hurts like hell
Saying no feels wrong
Setting boundaries feels bad
I want you to know this
so you don’t betray yourself,
so when the going gets tough,
you’ll still choose you.
✨
Do whatever wellness takes.
If that’s spending more time with family, with yourself, with your deepest desires and fulfilling them
do that. Do more of that.
Do whatever it takes to craft and live a life you love.
✨
Reminder that your time and energy are limited resources.
Don’t waste it arguing.
Don’t waste it explaining.
Don’t waste it expecting people to be who they’re not.
Set boundaries.
Replenish.
Unplug.
✨
Grief is not a mountain to get over, an event to “get past.”
We survive with our grief.
And life can still have beauty and joy while we survive the worst of it.
💜
On Bearing Witness
it is a sacred place
this silent space
where words lay down
and take their final breaths
do you have the courage
to be quiet
the strength
to be still
the bravery to bury your words
and sit with me
Heal
so you can love different.
Heal
so you see love different.
Heal
so you self-care different.
Heal
so you pray different.
Heal
so you praise different.
Heal
so you talk different.
Heal so you listen different.
Heal for you.
Every area of my healed life is different.
✨
It is okay, healing even, to cry today
for the parts of you that felt:
Hurt
Broken
Damaged
Unprotected
It is okay to celebrate your current healing, wholeness, restoration, and safety while mourning not having those things when you were a child or more vulnerable.
