@Owennfa Instead of going insurance poor, do cost/benefit analysis. Auto and home (if you have a mortgage) insurances are obligatory, everything else is voluntary. Maybe increase deductibles or self insure.
Healthcare costs and insurance will be a nightmare until we have tort reform.
